Just received this iPhone upgrade deal for existing Xfinity Rewards members via email today. I am a Platinum member. This is the first iPhone deal I've seen for existing Xfinity Mobile customers in quite a while. Most Xfinity deals lately are for a qualifying phone trade-in + adding a new line. Not sure what other tiers or qualifications are eligible so YMMV.

Request a physical nano sim instead of eSIM. eSIM locks your phone to the phone number, with physical sim, you can swap between your Xfinity numbers on all Xfinity locked phones in the same Xfinity account. And no you can't do dual sims with locked Xfinity phones.
They probably not going to give you a physical SIM if your phone didn't support it, iPhone 14 and up didn't have physical SIM anymore, which make me not going to upgrade it, or I will buy it from Canada or other countries that still have physical SIM on new iPhones.

Anyone have any thoughts about whether a better deal from xfinity might happen in the next few months?

The most likely deal would come during Black Friday in November.. but it's no guarantee it will be anything for existing subscribers.

I spoke to a representative saying that we can just get a new line (huge promo with trade-in), then transfer the existing number to the new phone after activation.

It's basically an existing phone upgrade with the promo deal of a new line.

That's why lots of people including myself hate eSIM, if it is physical SIM, we can swap the SIM ourselves without asking vendors.

I've dealt with xfinity reps at least 100+ times. 1/3 are incompetent, 1/3 deliberately incompetent, and the last 1/3 competent ones will take you 6 tries to run into again. Online is the worst. Instore so far is 50/50. I wouldn't try anything complicated like this with them. It will literally blow their brains out.

Called another rep and got the same suggestion. I bit the bullet and signed the contract...Awaiting the phone now. If this somehow doesn't work, I'm going to be pissed.

What does this functionally look like? An unused new line that we are billed for?

The new line would be deleted from your plan after you transfer your existing number to the new phone.

Hi, any updates or feedback would be appreciated since I was thinking to try this route. Were you able to transfer existing number to the new phone after activation?

The phone just shipped out. The representative said she will call me a couple days after it arrives to go through the activation and number transfer process. I'll update this thread accordingly.

I got the new phone. They were able to cancel the new number and transfer the old number to the new phone. The bill checks out. The device still shows that it's eligible for the big trade-in credit. I shipped my old phone last week, but it's still stuck in transit for some reason.

I won't be happy until I receive the full trade-in credit.

I hope it works out
