Never understood what makes this an Ogg or Egg or whatever they call it. Doesn't even look like an egg. Unless you had square chickens?

Who calls it an "egg"? Its called "O-G" which stands for "original gangster" and they called it that because they were going back to basics and offering a new cam at the price of their original camera $20. Which is also the reason the you shouldn't get it. The version before this one "V3" is better than it in every way and can be had for the same price or cheaper. The V3 had higher MSRP though.

It's just a term. It did start with criminals I guess but it doesn't just refer to criminals anymore. So if you used to play any sport in your school for example and someone who was a couple of years younger than you but on the same team is now the coach if you go to visit he might introduce you to the new players as an "OG" because you were there in the beginning or what he considers the beginning.
