first thing i see is a polo with 'regular' price of $89

Yep, J Crew Factory "retail" prices are always wildly inflated. That's why even a 50% sale usually isn't that slick. 70% is pretty much as good as it gets -- and as you can see above, it's very possible to find some slick deals during a 70% off sale. $5 - $6 bucks for decent wardrobe staples like tees and tanks is slick enough for me. You're also likely to find decent quality sweaters and polos and such for $20 or under during a sale like this.

J Crew Factory rarely has free shipping to home (unlike regular J Crew which always offers free shipping to loyalty members), but you can always select free ship to store if you have one nearby.

Edit: Forgot to mention that it's relatively uncommon to find a 70% off sale for J Crew Factory online purchases. They happen in-store fairly often (e.g. when they're having a 50 - 60% off clearance sale online, you can usually go to a brick and mortar store and find a 70% off sale there) but only a few times a year online.

Thompson suit for $150 is tempting

Edit: never mind, NOT a good deal. Polyester suits. I was confusing this with their Ludlow collection which is a decent suit. The Thompson suit is garbage.
