No - I found it via the Sony Alpha subreddit. It's EXTREMELY YMMV - as in it shows up at one or two Best Buy locations in the entire US only a couple times a month. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/sony...Id=6356771
I bookmarked that link and just checked it once or twice daily. If it shows it as open-box, you then have to input zip codes till you find one within 250 miles of the location with that open-box lens in stock.

Yeah whatever. The dude's lobbied hard by the billionaire Sony Corporation and his review starts with the conclusion and figures out how to get there. Approximately 0% of users (especially in the video sphere, for whom the key declicked aperture feature was included) can possibly notice any difference in image quality.
I'm sticking with my Zeiss 85mm prime (that includes OIS too) which cost half as much, back when Sony's greed wasn't so hilariously tacky.

Hmm. Decisions decisions. The mark ii is coming out soon, which is why this is on sale.
EDU price for this is now $1,169.10.
That lens is already out.
FYI - the 85mm f1.4 GM version 1 is 8 years old, and it has had known focus issues for years. I would go with the Sigma instead or buy the GM V2, but it is way more expensive.

It's not out yet. You can pre-order it, if that's what you mean?
But yeah, agreed that focusing could be a good reason for the new one. Sony's autofocus has improved tremendously the last couple of years.
