It's because they are Non MA and at Microsoft. Limited by playback devices.

NON MA digital movie "deals" are like Betamax movie sales when USA adopted VHS standard. It's like HD DVD deal after Blu-ray won the battle.

No MA, no buy for Microsoft.

Great prices, though!

wow no love... Some of these are really good if you do not have them. Wish Indiana Jones had all 5 movies.

Yup...great prices and some movies I want but I wouldn't be able to watch them so...

I checked some of the movies on Amazon and they were also on sale but a little more expensive ($1 to $2). I ended up getting one movie I wanted.

I was looking at the Jack Ryan collection and if it had all 5, the Indiana Jones movies. There were others. I was checking back to see if Vudu might have price matched.

But MA has Microsoft partner option. I'm new to MA but I was able to bring over movies from Microsoft. Is there a larger issue somewhere?

That only helps when the movies are Movies Anywhere (MA) and doesn't help when the movies are not MA. Movies in this deal are all Non-MA as they are all Paramount studio movies. Therefore, even if you were to buy them on Microsoft, they will not port over to other platforms connected to Movies Anywhere and won't shop up in Movies Anywhere either. The only way to playback these movies are on your Windows computer or Xbox. Compared to when you buy at Apple, those movies can still be played back on Roku, Firestick, Nvidia, GoogleTV, in addition to AppleTV devices. This is because Apple has made their app available on all of those platforms.

Microsoft is just being greedy in this regard and their only reason is they think it may push people to switch to their platform. I honestly think they're losing more money due to this but that's just pure guess on my part.

Paramount the studio doesn't participate in MA. Not a Microsoft specific issue.

It's Microsoft, known for reneging on digital purchases.

Read the comments in the following thread on the Bond issue.

I do not think that is true. Yes, my purchase was reversed, but it was a price mistake. I also have had other deals on Slickdeals cancelled or just not shipped. Some deals just seem too good to be true ..... and they are. So if this were the case, we should also be against Amazon, Walmart, Anova, ... I have had lots of orders just not ship or received emails regarding a pricing mistake. The Bond series has been the first cancelation I have received from Microsoft. It was such a good deal, everyone was disappointed.

I do wish Microsoft was on more devices, but I have the same issue with Apple. And I am writing this on a MacBook Air.......

And yet no one has reported the Star Trek movies being taken back.

It seems that some of you have a hard time discerning between an obvious price mistake (25 Bond movies for $5, including relatively recent releases) and actual sales like the Star Trek movies and these.

Quit fear-mongering. Like everyone else, I was disappointed that I didn't get to keep my Bond movies, but they gave me (any everyone else) the $5 back. I moved on with my life.

That says, I usually avoid Paramount on Microsoft because although I do have devices that can play them, I tend to prefer other services. But this is more about Paramount not joining MA than Microsoft's platform.

I beg to differ; it would better deal if it was the 3-movie Indiana Jones Collection

Ha ha! I remember when betamax tapes were on clearance and it seemed like it took forever for them to clear out.
