EDIT
After reading this particular comment thread on reddit from yesterday [reddit.com], it seems the best method which requires the minimum amount of spending is 1 personal card and 1 business card. It's best to apply for the personal card as close to the 10/9 deadline as possible, and then the business card within 30 days after that.
Get two cards and get refunded for the annual fees

Either:
One personal card + one business card (Initial bonus from both cards in 2025 would get you there)
or
One personal card bonus + a couple referrals in 2025 (where you would get bonus points for referring others).
To get the benefit of the Companion Pass and for 2025-2026, you'd need the bonuses to hit in 2025.
So you'd need to delay your application (to early Oct) and delay finishing your spending requirement to early January so that your 85,000 bonus points hit in 2025. Then you also get 10,000 companion points from Southwest in 2025 for being a card holder. So you are already at 95,000 or more out of 135,000 for companion pass eligibility points in 2025. Once you get there, two referrals in 2025 should do it -- even without the business card. Referral bonuses have been 20k each lately. Google Chase Refer a Friend portal to find out about that.
Good luck.
P.S. And as to someone else's prior comment......about getting 'refunded for the annual fees'....I don't know how to do that. I have always had to pay the annual fees for these cards, but the points are worth way more than the annual fees so I am fine with that -- even if you don't try for a companion pass....to me, 85,000 bonus points is worth at least ten times the $69 annual fee.

Business card is easiest if you do have a business or have a 1099 job, because they sometimes ask for supplemental information.
I've never been able to get a refund on new card fees, but I wait for my anniversary points to drop into my account then cancel the cards. They will refund renewal fee's up to 30 days.
Keep in mind that you can only get the bonus points every 24 months for the same card. For instance my bonus points dropped 1/15/2023, I have to make sure to time it correctly so this time around they drop after 1/16/2025 into my account.
I've had the CP for the past 6 years, under utilized, but it is convenient to have with my partner.

Honest Q: What is the net value in transferring points to your wife, since you can book reservations for her using your points already?
We have almost 300k pts between us and about to get more...

Just to clarify, at one time it was based on the card for the 24 month bonus, I believe it's currently and has been for a few years any personal card and any business card, so you cannot get a premier and plus and get SUB on both, hence all the advice to get 1 personal card and 1 business card.
