Dang, if that's the minimum then I wonder what the maximum is.

I've used the same jug for 5+years without issue.

Great deal - keep in mind that the minimum shelf life is 1-2 years per the mfg - worth considering if purchasing large quantities. Personally just finished gluing a top with some 2yr old product that worked just fine. Of course YMMV depending on your storage environment.

You glue two pieces of wood together lengthwise, let it dry, and break it but it will not break at the glue joint!

How long has it been sitting on the shelf before they ship it to you?

Several years ago I came across some in a garage clean out that was so old that it had turned bright orange with the consistency of caramel. Did some test glue ups with it and the wood failed before the glue joint did, so I went ahead and used it with no apparent problems to this day.

Good product. I would only buy this much if you have a project to apply it to (cutting board, table top, workbench) as I personally buy the smaller sizes and find that they do indeed start to gel up after a year or two depending on the temps in my garage. Interestingly the last time I bought in bulk I left one bottle in a plastic bag it came in with a knot tied in the top of the bag and that bottle lasted fine and the one I used a bit of and was outside of the bag was unusable for my last glue-up as it had big globs in it and couldn't be squeezed through the tip. Perhaps this huge bottle keeps longer just based on the sheer volume of material though!

Shelf life plus don't let it freeze in the winter, if you leave it in a cold shed etc.

TB3 is really the only one of them that has a horrible shelf life. If you're doing a lot of glue ups it doesn't matter, but something to keep in mind.

I recently had that happen to a bottle of mine chucked up a mixer to my drill and mix it up with about a splash of water and it returned back to original.

That's great to know because I am a year in and only a third of the way through one.

Yeah great question - I keep mine in a low humidity conditioned space that's typically dark - I've never run into any issues, but then again, use it within a couple years of purchase (no telling how long it's sat on a shelf before buying it)
