One test I performed was taking a 5/16th" carriage bolt, I drilled a 5/16th" hole in 3/4" pine and pushed the carriage bolt through. I put a washer and nut on and used the open end of the 7/16th" Kobalt wrench and twisted the carriage right through the pine (no problem, no jaw spread). Fantastic wrenches!
these are probably better priced than the HF polished wrenches that go on sale for $7/set, and come in a MUCH better plastic holder
