My friend paid a fortune for the clamshell DVD's when they came out, this is better quality, takes up less room on the shelf and the entire thing is cheaper than 1 season of those old DVD sets. In for 1.

I bought this a week ago for $40. The packaging is very nice and it seems like they put a lot of work into the show itself to enhance it

Yep. Those were definitely NOT the days. Lol. I remember never thinking that I would be fortunate enough to have the entire TNG show let alone any others.

But then Columbia house DVD club (remember them) had a glitch where you could pick any DVD including TV sets as your "free" choices. So it still cost a lot more than this deal but I finally completed my TNG set with those glistening silver boxes.

Do these have the terrible CGI planet and ship scenes? I have all three season on DVD and I'm still really happy with them, but I'd consider this if it has all original scenes.

I'm not sure how to answer this because I'm not sure what you're asking. Are you saying the original 1960's special effects had terrible "CGI"? Or are you saying that the remastered version with updated effects is the terrible CGI?

If I'm not mistaken both versions should be on the discs. They were for the DVDs so I believe they are for the blu-rays.

You have the choice between the 1960s episodes or the remastered (with CGI and that God Awful woman screeching the opening music).

My buddy bought the twilight zones on DVD for $100 each season back in the day. Spent $500. Pretty sure I bought it on blu ray the whole thing for $40. Crazy how prices went down. I bought a server and 4 20tb hard drives, prob spent about $1600 bucks. If you told me 25 years ago the technology we'd have I wouldn't have believed it. I used to tape shows on VHS tapes. Somebody cutting onions in here

I think he paid somewhere around $60-70/per, now I've seen those blue, red and yellow clamshells at flea markets for $5 laugh out loud

Do you still have them? I've always wanted the clamshells, just never found them locally at flea markets.

Seems like a good day, and love Steelbooks. That always felt like a Best Buy type purchase.
