I think most of them have solid single player campaigns so I'll start with the ones I wouldn't recommend: if you haven't played the prior games I'd definitely steer clear of Black Ops III and Modern Warfare II (the 2022 reboot), I personally wasn't a fan of those campaigns and they do tie into the previous stories. After that, maybe I'd put WWII then Ghosts on the lower end of the "recommend" scale: the rest I'd definitely recommend checking out though. My top picks would be the original Modern Warfare trilogy, the first Black Ops, Black Ops II, and Cold War if you were looking to get into the stories (plus you might be able to play around in Zombies and Spec Ops modes solo in some of those games also). If you're looking for one solid standalone game to get into, Infinite Warfare honestly has a pretty great singleplayer campaign too Smilie hope all that helps!

That's tricky to recommend, as much as I loved playing the older games back in the day they're flooded with cheaters now (at least when I played them last though it wasn't that long ago), I'm pretty sure Ghosts and Infinite Warfare have very small communities now also (and they definitely weren't lauded for their multiplayer). You might have the best experience with Black Ops III or Cold War - since MWII is pretty new you should also have a solid online experience there also. Can't really attest to Modern Warfare Remastered or WWII, depends partly on what you're interested.

Gotcha thanks. Really stinks how much they butchered the franchise and gouge on pricing for decade old titles.

2009 Call of Duty MW2 I remember having a great campaign when it came out on 360. That's the game that hooked me on the franchise.

Man I LOVED black ops 2. I wish there was still a community for it that played online. As someone who has played all of these. MW2> BO2 > BO1 > everything else > Ghosts

I'm such a doofus and thought at first glance that this was *all* the legacy titles for $20 *facepalm*

Still a solid deal for those looking to fill in gaps for their library or play a single player they haven't had a crack at yet.

Multiplayer in these games is not safe to play. There's enough security vulnerabilities in these old games that hackers (of which there are many) can remotely access your PC while you're playing.

The old modern warfare series are pretty good.

black ops 1 2 are okay.

the rest are meh i think. i'd rather watch walkthrough videos for those.
