If I don't need mop feature, is the Q5 a better vacuum?

I got this in the previous deal and I am VERY happy with the Q7 Max. It is able to navigate my (small) home without any issue and I haven't had any problems at all. It has a dumb mop but my floor still comes out looking clean. If I had roommates or pets, I would probably want a fancier robot but this device does the job if you have a relatively clean place and you're too lazy to sweep and mop regularly.

Q7 Max+ [amazon.com]with the dock for another $160 at $379. Is it worth it to get the dock? Or does that just provide another point of potential failure if it fails to dock properly?

I believe the Q5 is virtually identical but the Q5 Pro has more suction.

I assume you are talking about the Q5 pro? Objectively yes, the 5 pro is a better vacuum. It has higher suction, a longer run time, a dual brush design, a larger internal bin, and is reportedly much better at picking up pet hair. The q7 has a better mopping feature(although both supposedly are not great), and slightly better lidar. After researching these both for quite awhile I went with the 5 pro and have been happy.

Get it at Amazon where you can get a protection package. Once the one year warranty is up, Roborock customer service is useless.

My wife calls this the dumb robot. It gets stuck almost daily in between her office desk and office chair. But when it doesn't get stuck it works like a charm. I use a corded vacuum monthly to get deeper clean but it doesn't pick up much.

Put a no go zone there then (if possible) or put an object there so it goes a different route.

If you're going to do that just get the qrevo refurb for $400 from eBay. It's been fantastic. I've tried like 6 other robot vacs & it's been the best thus far.

Thumbs down me all you want. It makes virtually zero sense to buy the Q7max + base for $380 when you could get the Qrevo + base for $20 more. They're a completely different generation & league of robot vacuum. I've had both.

I got this on the last deal for $205 and I have been loving it. One thing was it gets stuck on shoe laces easily. After making sure it they are tucked in it has been working great even hitting spot like under the bed that I would not be able to hit with my normal Vacuumed. The App also show where it has been and I can see it in real time cleaning when I am at work if I have the time.

Like the last person said, put a no go zone at the desk. I had to do this with my fridge, it was just tall enough to get stuck under the fridge. I have laminate so this picks up all the pet hair and dirt in the house.

How's the app? Easy to use for scheduling and creating no-go zones?
