Why the downvotes? I'm considering it. I know Walmart had the stainless 8 series for the same price. I'd rather have the 9 in aluminum. I have had 5 stainless steel Apple Watches and one aluminum.

The stainless may be worth $ 25 more at trade in. Check Best Buy trade in prices. Given that, I'm going back to aluminum. Getting the aluminum and paying $ 79 for AppleCare makes a lot of sense,

I bought one b/c it looks like it's old stock w/ blood O2 sensor b/c Walmart lists it as a LL/A. There might be a better price for the updated model w/o it but I suspect there aren't too many NOS left w/ O2 sensor. The 9 gets all the new functionality of the 10 so this is a reasonable price to me even though I don't want cellular. I'm positive no new O2 GPS model are buried in the warehouse.

If this turns out to be a LW/A model I will return ASAP.

For some people myself included, the O2 sensor is very important. It's an early indication of COVID if it drops under 90%. Just as important as heart rate. I upgraded from 4 to 7 to get this feature.

Nope 👎 I had a series 7 stainless steel and after 2 years of ownership I upgraded to a series 9 Aluminum and never going back. I thought I would like the stainless but the additional weight was something I never I got used to and actually made me wear my watch less. Folks don't think you have to get stainless 😉 I had 4 watches previously and tried in on a whim. Too heavy, maybe titanium but for now Aluminum is perfectly fine

I also decided to forgo cellular this time. I am near WiFi or have my phone near by 99% of the time and the times I am away from both did not make sense to me to keep cellular. I hope that helps anyone rethink their use case and if they really need to spend the extra upfront and monthly costs

For me no. Never owned or desired SS. 1. It's noticeably heavier and would feel unbalanced when I run. OTOH I don't even notice the AL on my wrist. 2. Even when it's clearance season like now it's still $100-150 more than AL w/ cellular. So I'd be paying even more for something I don't want.

Who in here keeps downvoting people's comments in favor of the O2 sensor capabilities? It is a valid need for some, and Apple stopped including it in newer models after getting sued for patent infringement.

Just an update -- received my AW9 today and it is the LL/A model as advertised. I updated it to Watch OS 11 and have the Blood Oxygen app and ability to trade sleep apnea, so huge win in my mind to have both of these features.
