Ridiculous waste of money. Buy some eneloops and charger from the other thread and have the ability to swap new batterys mid game.

I wouldn't say a waste of money. This is definitely more of a luxury purchase. There is no need for it, and rechargeable batteries are much better value. But it is convenient. It's nice to give your controller a dedicated home where you know that it will be charged up to 100% each day.

I splurged and bought one to match my red controller a few years ago. I liked it, but even then I thought $25 was a bit much. Thankfully, I jumped on the Verizon deal last year when these were $10 and bought 4 more. IMO, these stands should be $25 MSRP, and even less on sale.

If you really want a wireless charging stand, I'm not sure if there are better options than this. Cheaper no-name ones off Amazon have very questionable quality. I've bought cheap ones for both Xbox and Switch controllers, and I've felt like their poor reliability made them not even worth it.

Here we go with all the "just get rechargeable battery" comments. This deal is for those who don't want to be switching batteries but instead just plug and play. Sure, it only takes 20 secs to change batteries, but it adds up over time not to mention the aggregate inconvenience.

Coming from playstation environment, it is the second biggest disadvantage (after proprietary ssd) to xbox imo. I personally wouldn't go for this deal and just get a $10 insignia from BB. I actually just have the insignia play and charge kit and it's awesome

Not to mention the ability to use the batteries on any other AA device.

Ive never had the batteries on these things last more than a year. Always fail to charge sooner or later. Eneloops from 10 years ago are still going strong tho.

I have one for my 20th anniversary controller and its nice but I really only got it cause the stand matched. I do wish they sold replacement batteries and extra covers.

I kinda agree with you. However, having the pack and charge stand for my kids would eliminate them swapping out batteries and inevitably losing eneloops….

With this, they just put it on the charger when not using it and it should always be charged… in theory…

If you don't want to swap batteries, I'd recommend a play-and-charge kit [xbox.com] instead of something like this. Especially if you have a custom controller with a different color battery door (and that matters to you).

Bought one of these on a previous deal. Died within a year. I even took it alert to see was wrong but couldn't figure it out.

Yep, you nailed it. These are great when you have them with the matching controller, especially for the more unique limited edition controllers. That's really the main point of them.

This IS essentially a play and charge kit.

Think about what you just said. Play AND charge... at the same time
