I added a wiki that I plan on adding to all future costco gold deals.

If you edit it, let me know so I can incorporate changes into the next deal.

The one ounce coin, $50 face value, is 1.287 inches (32.70 mm) in diameter, contains one gold troy ounce and weighs 1.0909 troy ounces (33.931 g).

Add the above for American Eagle please...

I'm not including every detail of every coin - the FAQ is already long. Extra coin-specific details are normally in the original post. I made it generic because I don't want to rewrite it for every costco metal deal.

It's also 1.1ozt, just rounded to fewer digits.

The US mint rounds weight too - they called a 1.212oz coin a one ounce coin in that very sentence.

But, you can edit the wiki if you would like. That's how wikis work, anyone can edit.

Ah, to be young and always right.

Stocks are a perfect investment for everyone, all the time. Nothing else should be in your portfolio.

International stocks, bonds, smaller company stocks, Treasury bills, CDs, commodities, annuities... All crap. Useless to anyone, regardless of savings goal, life stage, or risk tolerance. Diversification isn't a thing.

That's fine. You don't need to own gold.

But, you don't need to denigrate every investment other than 500 individual US stocks.

Yes, I buy the S&P500. I don't think there are many people who invest in gold that don't (maybe leprechauns and coin dealers). Gold is a small, but interesting part of the portfolio.

Different asset classes have their place and purpose, and gold has historically been a decent, conservative investment. It is not solely for those preparing for end times. Those folks are more into ammunition, bunkers, freeze dried food, and yes, toilet paper.

The unique advantage that it will still have value even if the dollar and electronic markets fail, taxed, seized, or nationalized is a secondary consideration in most cases, as evidenced by the popularity of Gold ETFs, that don't have those advantages.

I'm not sure if it's sarcasm or real advice. I've been doing exactly what you listed here and its fine. Who gives a crap about CDs when you can buy TBills with the same yields and liquidate them any moment? CDs are just for uneducated people. Same goes other insturuments you mentioned (e.g. annuity is just a scam, basically, you pay people extra for what you could do with IRA). Even TBills won't outperform S&P, it is just a halfway house to park your money when you make big money moves.

It was sarcasm. Very much so.

As far as CDs and annuities, that's far enough off topic on a silver post that I'm just not going there. I personally have bank CDs in my portfolio, but don't have annuities - not because I think they are bad, just not right for my goals.

I was in the camp that silver and gold are dumb investments. I have varied stock investments as well as other. I have just now started to stack gold and silver and I see why considering everything going on. Many many hours of research and I am now all in on stacking PM's. The way I see it is, I am horrible at saving and buying all these PM's scratch several itches/needs, 1. My compulsivity to buy things, 2. Long term savings, without having the money in my account (for various reasons), 3. Knowing I PHYSICALLY own something of value. Lots of naysayers in here. I was the same when gold was at 2,000/oz and at that time I was kicking myself when my friend bought got before then at 1000. I thought 1000 was crazy. We are heading to 3k gold imo easily and beyond
