Its definitely gonna get cheaper, but I am loving this game! The demo does not do it justice. I Thought the demo was kinda meh but bought on launch anyway as I had some expiring credit to use. I'm about 20 hours in and can't put it down. Very fun and looks great. Def worth the $50 if you're a fan of the series or interested in these type of games. They did a good job, even with the slight performance issues here and there.

It's kinda okay
Mostly offers just nostalgia. It's 10000% cookie cutter for the series/genre. It's an enjoyable game, but probably in that 6/10 conversation of a game that's fun to play when it's free with Playstation plus or heavily discounted.
Basic combat/customization, pure cookie cutter story, very outdated graphics, and it's performance disappoints for sure (I'm playing on ps5) . At this point it's a game for people who enjoyed the series in the past, and probably not for anyone else
This game was a surprise when it launched because I heard nothing about it. I'm a longtime fan of the Mana series so I don't really know what happened there. I'm excited to try this but i'm also backlogged on games right now so even at $50 I can't do it.

How far into the game are you? The combat really opens up when you start unlocking the elements and putting together dope combos. The elemental strikes showoff some cool effects.
I also love how fast the characters move, so exploration is pretty fun. Lots of double jumping and air dashing. The graphics are not cookie cutter lol. It's the Mana series so yeah it looks like the series' art style. This is the most vivid and stunning it's ever looked. It looks like I dreamed Secret of Mana to look in the future when I was a kid playing that. That dream is now reality.
This is JRPG comfort food. Maybe you've played too many of these games or something? I say it's a solid 9. And the story in pretty much every jrpg is Cookie cutter these days so you can't knock it for that. It's Mana through and through. It feels like they finally fulfilled the true Final Fantasy Adventure that Secret of Mana was intended to be.
One of the best things about this game is that you are constantly being taken to new places. It does not stagnate with the environments. I feel like it's got a very good flow and super fun game play. That's so important in this type of game. Just running through the open world and discovering things that you can't quite get to yet that you know you'll have to come back to later on when you level up more or learn a new ability. There's all sorts of little places like that.
It feels a bit like Zelda BotW without the weapon breaking. Also, I'm playing on Xbox and there's nothing else like this on Xbox. I was happy to support this coming to the system and I'm glad it turned out as well as it did. I think it's a banger and even if you want to wait till it drops in price, I highly recommend a playthrough if you like genuinely fun games. I feel like this one is going to become a cult classic. It has people that feel it's kind of meh, but there are others out there who feel this is a bona fide classic that everyone should play. Im that camp. I own it digitally so I'll probably pick up a physical copy when it does drop in price just to keep in my collection. I don't do that with many games anymore

Really fun game so far, I'm about 5 hours in. Playing the PS4 version - on base PS4 is a chunky 24-30 fps, on Pro is 35-60fps. I imagine the PS5 version has no such issues. Square Enix has really been busy this past year
