Rule of thumb for tents is: when it says X number of people, that means laying like sardines side by side, and none of them being over ~150lbs. I've always found that for me camping solo, a 3 person tent is ideal, since I like stretch out when I sleep and I have extra room to put a bag in there or other things.

Anyone comment on the quality of this tent? Price seems great but not sure the ratings. I found another site with more reviews - its not the exact same color-wise but seems same in everything else.

Reviews are not very promising.

Thanks for posting this! I was trying to decide between this and the Woods A frame 3 person tent from another slickdeal for $39.99 on the same site but this seems like a better value. I'm curious if anyone has any experience with this? How hard is it to setup and take back down and fold up? The A frame one looked super simple to setup and take down.

I've had easy up tents in the past. They are super simple to set up but a bit heavier than a regular tent. I'm sure you can find a video on youtube if you're really worried about it..

Bathtub looks legit, buy some real tent stakes and this looks like a solid 3-season tent. I've seen too many pop-up tents fail in rough weather, so I'd reserve this for dry outings. Either way, give it a good spray of nickwax (or similar) and you'll have a better chance of staying dry.

I still can't get over the fact this is 25 pounds!!! I mean you could fight off a bear just swinging this thing.

Great price. One of the reviews though mentioned it's not good for cold outdoors. Anyone knows if this is the case?

Our Kodiak Flexbow 10x14 canvas tent is 80 pounds. For tents like this, other things are usually more important than weight. You're not backpacking with these. The weight of this seems pretty typical of its class to me. Remember, it's like 500 square feet of fabric and another 100 square feet of polyurethane, plus poles.

Yea but canvas is heavy so I understand the 80 lbs there. How does canvas hold up in rain and snow? I've wanted to try one but worried about it holding precipitation instead of shedding it.

In for one to replace my Coleman 8 person instant, if needed. It is aging, and I patched it recently, but still need to check it. It has been great, and the instant tents are definitely worth the money to avoid an argument when your SO doesn't know how to help set up a standard tent!

Fantastic. Although I should point out the one big drawback (beyond the weight) with canvas is that you can't put it away at all wet. We've been pretty lucky, but we did have to set up the tent once at home and let it dry out which was kind of a pain.

Yeah half the listed number is typically the realistic max 👍

Anyone know what the min height is? Description only mentions the max at the peak

Any instant products are never instant. Instant canopies, instant tents, you name it, you still gotta use some elbow grease. 🏕
