I had cases of them (bang, monster, c4, reign) in my closet at all times. Whether they are detrimental or not its not good to be dependent on anything (to me at least) so back in April I just stopped completely, gave away my supply to someone at the gym, and havent had one since.
It all started when I heard on a podcast Duncan Trussel say we are all 2 days away from breaking any addiction. I took that to heart and challenged myself to do it. I still miss them, the taste and the feeling I started to rely on to feel 'normal', they were my favorite drink, even if they didnt have caffeine.
The worst effect they had I think was on my teeth. I have 4 crowns and 4 fillings I need that I contribute to these acidic, silly drinks, we're talking $4000 in dental bills here.
Not preaching to anyone and having 1 every now and then is fine but I'm posting this as a PSA to someone who was addicted like me and needs the wakeup call, you're just 2 days away from not needing these anymore, not to mention I was spending $40-60+ a month on these things, thats easily $500/yr freed up.

They were always 16oz cans, and that's where the slick price point is at.
One time you buy these only to find out they shrunk, and had to double-check I got the right ones. Shrinkflation got me again.
These are only worth it for the 16oz can ($1/can) -- otherwise I'm saving my money for better energy.
