Note that the previous thread on this has a massive amount of technical discussion about practically every aspect of this router and detailed setup instructions etc. If looking for answers, I'd start with a search in that thread (terms like OpenWRT, DD-WRT, stock, CA, mesh, USB, throughput, wired, backhaul, bricked, etc). That may be a good start for those new to it, as it probably already answers a lot of questions that are sure to crop up.

Also, here's a link to some of the basic support docs for it from the Linksys site …

I managed to possibly brick mine when uploading ddwrt. The steps were incredibly simple and this isn't my first time dealing with ddwrt so I'm not sure where things went wrong. I see a ddwrt SSID but I can't access the management portal. Anyone deal with this or know how to recover to stock?
Exact same thing with mine. Do yours show green light on top?

is it a reasonable assumption that everyone buying multiple units lives in mansions?
I live in an old house with lathe and plaster walls and ceilings where WiFi signal degrades significantly between floors and in some cases rooms. Not quite a mansion, unfortunately, but sturdy!

Probably not bricked if you have a ddwrt SSID. Try to connect to a wired LAN port and disconnect this from everything else on your network. You also might be in the wrong IP range or the default IP might have changed.

Yeah green light on top. Boots. Shows "ddwrt" SSID. Can't access the admin page.

Tried wired and wireless and no luck. Confirmed I was connecting to the right IP but nada. 😞 unsure if I skipped an important step but I don't believe so. When I went to flash, hung for 20 min and nothing happened so I power cycled. Still nothing sadly.

Have you tried a reset to defaults with the reset button (usually hold for X seconds)? Wireless comes up fairly late in the boot process, so it should be alive. Does it assign an IP address to your PC? What IP range is that in? What does it say is the DNS or gateway address? Can you ping it? I suppose it's possible that the web UI isn't loading even though the rest of the system is up.

Bought three of these, couldn't get wired backhaul mesh up and running well. My current set up is two openwrt askey routers rebranded from a cable provider and flashed.

I guess I'll hang onto them for now and check back in a little while if progress of faqs, guides, and firmware stability improves

I got to the point where dd-wrt wanted me to change username and password and did that but it's like it didn't take or process. I can occasionally get the dd-wrt page to come up but then it asks for username password and the one I set up along with the typical user and admin one doesn't work.

Today's new release of OpenWrt, v. 23.05.5.
LN1301 is still not on "supported devices" list.

I've got 3 Google Wifi gen 1 AC1200 routers, 1 on each floor of my house, on a Cox 500 mbps internet plan. I only get about 500 mbps on the unit directly attached to my modem. The other 2 routers get like 30-50 mbps in the basement and 1st floor. Would a couple of these Linksys units be better?

It actually works well for me just as a router. I currently live in a small apartment so no mesh WiFi necessary even at the furthest point in my apt I'm getting full internet speed. So much better than the crappy modem router that came with my internet provider.

They are really trying to dump these routers.
Bought two on woot, it got delivered really late. I tried returning one back to get a refund, they actually told me to keep it and they will refund the amount for one.
