Yes, better colors and viewing angles. VA does have better blacks but viewing off axis fades the colors out and on a 32 inch monitor is kind of ok depending on how close you sit to your monitor. I have the Samsung version of this monitor and is VA as well and it's not bad but I'd take the IPS for a little bit more

This is basically just a small smart TV with more inputs than a typical TV and a clamp mount for your desktop. It has a built-in OS for using apps, it has speakers built in, and it works with a remote (which is apparently sold separately). You could plug this display into power and nothing else and still be able to use it. If you subscribe to Youtube TV, you can just install the app directly to this monitor and use it from there.

I think the marketing angle is that this is for people with very limited space (dorm rooms, small apartments) who want to have a single display for everything. It would have been great for my tiny dorm room in college that had just enough space for a desk. I was running a TV tuner through my Windows 7 laptop with Windows Media Center and connecting to a small monitor.

That said, depending on the OS and the display, the experience might be pretty slow, like on older and cheaper TCL Roku TVs. I don't know anything about these in particular, but I've personally had many bad experiences with "smart" displays getting worse over time, having ads forced into the experience, etc. so I opt for "dumb" displays.

65hz? 5 more hz than standard 60 hz? 75hz is pretty ignorable in 60hz world and who cares for 5hz in extra. If it's not 100hz+ it's basically meaningless and just get 60hz for lower price

Missing two big thing, type c dock/hub and ergo stand. Sure if you don't need those 2 get the "better" quality IPS at Costco but anyone looking for type c monitor this is a great deal. Ergo stand is nice too but not sure it makes this deal much better as some ppl may prefer desk stand vs desk clamp

I do use the LG ultra fine ergo monitor that costco has on sale regularly at 400$ at home but this monitor is going to be used at work in a public shared desk so the type c connection will be nice.

Buyer Beware - Beach camera customer service email address seems to be undeliverable from google and 800 number is a recording. I got an open box monitor that is clearly defective and looks like I will have to dispute with credit card
