As a Latino, I can confidently say you're so wrong on rice not belonging in a burrito.

Now with that said, the Pollo Loco burritos do have WAY too much rice and not enough protein.

I got the burrito last time when it was b1g1. It was dry, very little chicken, and mostly rice. I thought there'd be veggies and some sauce at least.

Because the chicken burrito has always only had beans, rice, cheese and chicken. It's a cheap, basic burrito.

They sell other burritos with veggies and sauce and all kinds of different flavors. If you wanted those ingredients then ā€¦ buy the burrito with those ingredients in them.

My theory is that all fast food starts as real food and eventually ends up this way. I can remember EPL being delicious in the 90s, but by 2010 it was gross. Corporate corner cutting stretched over the years. Theoretically, even McDonalds served real food at some point in the distant past.

Used to get the Pollo bowl for lunch qu8te frequently, somewhere along the line they stopped putting chief. Or if they put so.e it was like 1 chunk. Hunting for the chicken that's supposed to be in my food isn't fun

Used to be ok before the pandemic, but now as you said it's a disappointment plus the offered coupons now suck! Put Pollo Loco on my Ban list a couple years back!

Of all the chains, El Pollo has managed to mess every single order up when I do it via their website or app. Food is always kinda just bland too.
