Here are some other things that happened to Pioneer after they stopped making TVs:

Sold patents to Panasonic: Pioneer sold many of its Kuro plasma TV patents to Panasonic.

Sold Home Electronics Corporation to Onkyo: In September 2014, Pioneer sold its Home Electronics Corporation to Onkyo.

Sold DJ equipment business to KKR: In March 2015, Pioneer sold its DJ equipment business to KKR, which established Pioneer DJ as a separate entity.

Licensing agreement with Voxx International: In June 2021, Voxx International acquired Onkyo and finalized a licensing agreement with Pioneer and Pioneer Elite brands.
You could use it as a phone if you are an elephant!
gosh...what happened to this brand? They use to sell $20k plasma TV at one point!

I still feel like this isnt that great of a deal tbh, theres just not that many devices that do 720p these days, you can prob just pick something up used from like FB marketplace thats a lot better and cheaper 2024. A 32" is too large for 720p youd be able to see the pixels unless you sit really far.

Its cool the Pioneer is back in TVs (even tho its some 3rd party company running it and its not flagship TV quality anymore). All of OG brands are seemingly starting to return. Panasonic & Sharp are bringing back reference level Flagship TVs back to the US so I hope Pioneer steps it up too Big Grin

200 nits is insanely low brightness. Would be hard to watch anything during the daytime.

That's why you check it out yourself before you buy. I'm guessing for the right purpose and user this TV is fine. 75 bucks. Just keep saying that to yourself. 75 bucks.

Don't be fooled - this is no Kuro! Pioneer is long gone, and someone bought the name.

Resolution is actually 1366 x 768 not 1280 x 720 according to https://www.usca.pioneer-tv.com/e...=16&cID=13
