It's interesting to me that they say "drug free" but melatonin is a hormone and it's considered a drug in many other countries. I also consider 3mg a fairly large dose. Another interesting thing about melatonin is that many people even find effectiveness at .5-1mg range.

Alcohol is the worst thing for sleep. It inhibits REM sleep. Why do people think red wine is some magic juice. It's the same alcohol as any other alcoholic drink

That's a very fair assessment. Insomnia won't be cured by most drugs, even melatonin.

Yea, I'm cool with melatonin, but it is definitely a drug! This is false advertising at best. BS. Same as "our snack has no chemicals!" but literally… everything… is chemicals. Taking advantage of idiots.

Yeah because hormones in the body don't do anything. You obviously don't know what melatonin is.

Melatonin never did a thing for me. I sleep like crap. Even prescribed trazadone and it does zero for me. I need to find something that works.

Benzodiazepines work, but they can sometimes cause addiction long-term

People have had good success with small amounts of THC gummies. Indica is the strain, just before bed. No noticeable hangover like Melatonin or pharma sleep pills often provide. If your state won't let you control your own body and/or think for yourself, another option to try is Valerian Root tea. Maharishi Ayerveda makes a good herbal sleep supporter called "Deep Sleep" that I like.

All of these can be more expensive than this deal and YMMV and I am not a doctor. I support everyone in getting the best sleep they can through whatever works best for them.
I love gummies so cant buy them because I would eat too many lol. I felt awful anytime I took Valerian - would wake-up cranky and wired!

Prescription wise there's many you could try, perhaps in this order with your doctor involved: ramelteon, doxepin (low dose), hydroxyzine, mirtazapine (low dose), z drugs or DORA drugs, and things like benzoes, barbiturates etc would be the the last resort.

Supplements wise you can talk to your doctor about L-theanine, apigenin, glycine, magnesium Glycinate or Threonate, GABA, Valerian, passionflower, etc...the list goes on.

Trouble falling asleep or staying asleep?
I used to have the hardest time falling asleep. Was also rx'ed trazadone and it didn't do anything. Finally the doctor gave me 25mg of seroquel and that stuff put me down. Only thing I ever found that could put my to sleep when I couldnt fall asleep on my own.

That was all 20 years ago now, these days funny I can actually get good sleep with just cannabis and sometimes melatonin gummies, granted i do 6mg ones.

No so much falling asleep, all though that does tend to be a problem, but I'm up all night long, sleep , awake, sleep , awake.

Thanks for the suggestions. Doctor doesn't seem to want to help much. I'm looking for anything at this point. Getting a few nights sleep just sucks when I'm at an already stressful job.

I wish I could get addicted to sleep. Still wondering years later if my 2 FT jobs for 7 years straight is part of the issue. I lived on a so little sleep in those 7 years, that I wonder if my body is still adjusting to the mess I put it through.

Just wanted to add my sleep routine for those nights where I need restful sleep but am still wired in the evenings (about once-twice a week):

30 min hot bath with Dr Teals epsom salt foaming bath in Lavender, helps you relax and soothes aching muscles if you did cardio or gym that day.

Nightly supplement of 1 sleep gummy (0.5mg melatonin & L-theanine), tryptophan capsule, muscle recovery complex (similar to ZMA), and an indica 10mg thc gummy

No blue light for the last hour before bed. Pretty easy since 30 min should be spent relaxing or reading in the bath and the other 30 minutes are just to wind down in bed with a weighted blanket and be in a state of peace. Occasionally I will play some binaural beats on an audio device by my bedside. This routine has never failed me and it feels like you melt into your mattress and float away into the clouds ala Little Nemo

If you take melatonin, you should take it 12 hours after you wake up, not before sleep. It's a hormone and is about consistent levels in the body. Almost nobody understands how it works. If you wake up at 6:00 am and wait until 10:00 pm to take it, your levels are so low that you get a weird rebound feedback cycle that happens and most people will wake up after 4 hours wondering what happened. That won't happen if you'll do what I'm saying.

Only take benzos if you've totally given up. I tell people I'm not giving out benzos unless you're in hospice care and then no problem if it's what you want.

Not knowing everyone's situation it doesn't hurt to add what helps.

My wife was hospitalized for 3 weeks a few months back, right at the end of the school year (she's a teacher). She's OK now, but at the time it was absolutely exhausting having my own day job, shuttling around our 4 kids to school and their activities, making sure everyone was fed ON TOP OF going to the hospital every day for 2-3 hours, usually at the end of the day, leaving around 9 PM. Coincidentally for that entire time I noticed that not only did I get a sense that I slept better, but my Samsung watch was giving me 90+% scores for sleep the entire time. Basically, being physically *and* emotionally exhausted seems to have been the key.
