Seems like a VA panel, if that matters to anyone.

Bought this a month ago. I am satisfied with its VA panel; it is good for office use or video watching. One thing I hate about this monior is its awful speaker. They don't even have an aux or dedicated earc (one HDMI port that can be used as an earc, but we need to use it for display input), so basically, it does not have a dedicated way to source out the sound! it's a horrible idea given it has a poor speaker.
Who's using a monitor speaker as a dedicated speaker? Even $20 speakers off Amazon are better 😂

it's marketed as a smart monitor with many streaming apps incorporated (like a TV), but it does not even have an audio out port.. hope they will add it in the next update

I have owned Samsung TVs, monitors, and appliances for over a decade. The older TVs were awesome. The ones with 'Smart' features are garbage. They lag after a couple months despite being relatively new. PlutoTV app does not work on any of them.
Yes Pluto tv app does work I'm watching right now

How is this not just a 27 inch TV? It has "smart" features and a low refresh rate!

VA panel = horrible viewing angles
But technology may have improved since then. Does anyone have any experience that could comment?

You want IPS panel. Surprised manufacturers still make VA panel monitors

Used to have a laptop with a VA panel screen (we're talking years ago). Horrible viewing angle, essentially have to look straight and at a perfect right angle to the screen and still bleeded definition on the sides. Has the VA technology improved that much since then? can anyone comment of experiences?

I bought an ADS panel (Chinese company BOE version of IPS) TV this year and this VA panel monitor, and my beliefs about IPS and VA were no longer valid. This VA panel monitor had a good viewing angle, and the ADS panel TV had a pretty good contrast ratio. So, I think display tech has developed a lot in recent years. The text book pros/cons chart did not matter much.

I think you got lucky with your VA monitor. Not the same experience from the guys from rtings.

Also, why Samsung webpage does not say the type of panel in this monitor in the description?

Not really it isn't. To be a TV it should have an antenna/cable connection to be able to decode actual broadcast TV channels. This just has built-in networking for streaming channels. Not the same.
