Man, these downvotes are rampant but I don't get why.

120mm AIOs have very limited use cases. It's good for specific cases (where you have awful air flow and the draw from fresh air actually benefits the CPU temps considerably) and not for recommended for most people.

Refurbished AIOs, I can understand being iffy about it. We're talking about an AIO, not a refurbed air cooler. If this fails, your PC's swimming. But also I've bought used AIOs so I'm personally not worried about it.

Some great deals in here. The h170i for $80 is a steal!

Avoid 120mm AIO for any R7 or I7 or higher. (basically any CPU with 125W+ power consumption)

120mm radiator is not enough to cool any high-end CPU nowadays.
It will stress out the cooler and throttle the CPU, causing silicon degradation.

You may get a Thermalright air cooler for much better cooling performance at this price.

120mm AIO maybe not as good as same price air heat sink.

Ended up going with the h170i , overkill for my planned build but would have to pay 10 dollars shipping for any of options that are less than 80 so I'm hoping it will last until I eventually get a CPU that would benefit more from it.

The question is:
Why was the liquid cooler returned?
And follow-up:
Did anything get tweaked in the repacking?

This is the absolute last piece of your machine you want going wrong--just not worth it.

Plus, there are so many great dual 120mm/140mm air coolers in this price range.

So, no details on how they have been refurbished on AIO? What did they exactly replace?

What is the warranty for refurbished items?

Edit: Nevermind, found it.

All certified refurbished products have a 90-day, replacement-only warranty*.

Bad take. EVERY product has bad apples. In this case, refurb is significant saving, and the issue has been fixed. So in that way, they fixed the defect that the new unit originally had (the new unit was defective!) Sure, I'd like the warranty on these to be longer, but for the savings, I think it's worth it.

I purchased two of the H150i 1 1/2 years ago. Their AIOs are plagued by what's probably firmware issues. Pump will stop pumping and you have to unplug everything, discharge it for 15 minute, then plug it in. I also purchased new the XT LCD display and that thing is constantly not working requiring reboot. My assumption now is their refurb cooler are junk else they would offer a longer warrantee. Their software support for iCUE is horrible as I've yet to download a stable bug free version.

If they're so confident with their refurbish, why would they only offer a 90 day warranty? I completely regret my purchase a couple of years ago. Junk, just stay away.

I don't know the answer to this one, but let's hope they are fixing the refurbs with better parts or firmware. The warranty is the same across all corsair refurbs from what I understand. And corsair has a decent reputation for their refurb quality. I think it's a trade off. Not a long warranty period, but significant savings. I bought the $100 refurb XT LCD that's normally $280 new. For me, the risk is worth the savings. But I understand both sides. I would probably be more pissed if I paid $280 for new, and it crapped out shortly after warranty, than if a $100 refurb did.

It's a trade off. The savings are HUGE, but a less warranty. From what I have read, corsair has decent refurb reputation. Always a risk that new or refurb is gonna go south outside of the warranty period.
