edit: as to why a 5000mha battery can only half charge a 4500 mha phone, there's a ton of energy loss as heat when pushing 18w~22.5w, and you are most likely actively using the phone while using this battery bank so up to half is pretty spot on.

Result: portability is a major factor, as well as not getting in the way. Having a wire ended up being a much bigger impediment than originally anticipated. Results: 1 was DOA, but there is some sentiment that I could magnet the charger to my phone and wire it in. I would need a short wire, but it seems extremely feasible and wouldn't be that obstructive in using the phone. It is 5000 mAh, and if I wanted 10000mAh, it might be too thick to use. This would begin to resemble (3) if it was 10000mAh. 3 seems like a great charger and it is fairly convenient to have the wire, but even if I stuck a magnet on it, it's a thick boi. It's probably a big impediment, and if I didn't feel like I could charge my portable charger at the end of every day, 10000mAh might be worth the thickness. If I needed to charge multiple devices (with a max of 30W, maybe a steam deck as well?), maybe this would be more useful. Without using a magnet, having to put the wire into the phone and hold it sucks. I did buy it at a fairly big discount, but it is inconvenient. 4 is kind of the same. Being able to charge it in an outlet is pretty great, and would allow me to carry one less piece of equipment in travel, but that doesn't happen that often. It is hefty, and if it could charge at 65W when not plugged into a wall, this would be a whole different ball game. For now, there is no reason to have something that big that can only charge at 30W. This leaves 2. 2 is only 5000mAh and only has USBC port, but it has a built in USB plug that can go right into your phone. It fits really nicely, charges quickly (both input and 22.5W output is over the max for the pixel fold), and is small. You won't need to carry anything additional with you as long as it's charged, and it doesn't get in the way of you holding your phone. You can use both the magsafe wallet or other attachments simultaneously. Although it is a bit expensive at $30, 2 is the clear winner
That being said, at 2 for $23, this is absolutely worth it in my opinion.
However, like I said, I've owned this for a while. And what I've found in the meanwhile is that the piece that connects to the phone charger directly is delicate, and if you often leave it dangling or bearing weight (i.e. charging in a position that could damage the item), that port will no longer work. If you send an email to Anker, they will send you a new one, so that is good. But also, the charger will still work with a wire, though this defeats the main advantage this charger has over the others offered by Anker.

I prefer this 5200mah Anker Power Bank (https://www.anker.com/products/a1...2681512086)
Was $12 a handful of months ago on Amazon.
I have Ankers 20000mah Powerbank too, but its not an Everyday Carry, too bulky. This 5200mah goes with me on my Bike, in my Sketchbook bag etc, its EDC for sure.

I have the usbc version, and it's been great to charge my phone without being tethered to a cable. I actually use it more when I'm home and it holds a charge for quite a while. Imo the cabeless wins over the small capacity. In most situations, you don't need to fully charge your phone. I think on any brand the connector is bound to break but it's worth it for this price.
