Seems interesting at $13, but I wonder how a 5000mah battery is only able to half charge a 4500mah iPhone 15 Pro Max battery (per the listing).

I love this little thing and have one of them in all of my bags that I use as an emergency backup and they came in handy moe than once.

edit: as to why a 5000mha battery can only half charge a 4500 mha phone, there's a ton of energy loss as heat when pushing 18w~22.5w, and you are most likely actively using the phone while using this battery bank so up to half is pretty spot on.

How long can you leave the battery? Charge it up, throw it in a bag, and then need it six months later — would it charge up the phone almost as well?

It's just like any other lithium-ion battery so for a 5000mah battery six months probably reduces it to about 80% maybe? I have an anker 737 that has 24000mah and 4-5 months in without using it's still 97% down from 100%

Listen, I've had this exact charger before. Before I bought this, I did an EXTENSIVE review of multiple wireless chargers for my Pixel fold. Here was my original analysis, with (1) being irrelevant, (2) being the above item, (3) being the anker 30W 10,000mAh with the wire attached to it, and (4) being the 60W outlet/portable charger combo
Quote :
Use case: To charge the phone for ~1 full charge. I have access to power outlets fairly often (daily), and if not I would carry a bigger power bank. If a laptop is needed to be charged, I could carry a bigger power bank. Phone charges 7.5W wirelessly (slow) and up to 21W with a wire.

Result: portability is a major factor, as well as not getting in the way. Having a wire ended up being a much bigger impediment than originally anticipated. Results: 1 was DOA, but there is some sentiment that I could magnet the charger to my phone and wire it in. I would need a short wire, but it seems extremely feasible and wouldn't be that obstructive in using the phone. It is 5000 mAh, and if I wanted 10000mAh, it might be too thick to use. This would begin to resemble (3) if it was 10000mAh. 3 seems like a great charger and it is fairly convenient to have the wire, but even if I stuck a magnet on it, it's a thick boi. It's probably a big impediment, and if I didn't feel like I could charge my portable charger at the end of every day, 10000mAh might be worth the thickness. If I needed to charge multiple devices (with a max of 30W, maybe a steam deck as well?), maybe this would be more useful. Without using a magnet, having to put the wire into the phone and hold it sucks. I did buy it at a fairly big discount, but it is inconvenient. 4 is kind of the same. Being able to charge it in an outlet is pretty great, and would allow me to carry one less piece of equipment in travel, but that doesn't happen that often. It is hefty, and if it could charge at 65W when not plugged into a wall, this would be a whole different ball game. For now, there is no reason to have something that big that can only charge at 30W. This leaves 2. 2 is only 5000mAh and only has USBC port, but it has a built in USB plug that can go right into your phone. It fits really nicely, charges quickly (both input and 22.5W output is over the max for the pixel fold), and is small. You won't need to carry anything additional with you as long as it's charged, and it doesn't get in the way of you holding your phone. You can use both the magsafe wallet or other attachments simultaneously. Although it is a bit expensive at $30, 2 is the clear winner
However, like I said, I've owned this for a while. And what I've found in the meanwhile is that the piece that connects to the phone charger directly is delicate, and if you often leave it dangling or bearing weight (i.e. charging in a position that could damage the item), that port will no longer work. If you send an email to Anker, they will send you a new one, so that is good. But also, the charger will still work with a wire, though this defeats the main advantage this charger has over the others offered by Anker.

That being said, at 2 for $23, this is absolutely worth it in my opinion.

It's a bit of a gamble but I'm gonna try using these Anker Nanos for extending the life my VR helmet and controllers. They don't seem like they add much weight. Will they stay in is the question. Might need a couple rubber bands.

What the freak are you talking about. Very confused and jumbled response. It seems like you are referencing multiple different devices but the quote is so confusing not worth deciphering.

lol, about time, these are trash. The connector is a hassle to use, and is prone to breaking off.

I prefer this 5200mah Anker Power Bank (https://www.anker.com/products/a1...2681512086)
Was $12 a handful of months ago on Amazon.

I have Ankers 20000mah Powerbank too, but its not an Everyday Carry, too bulky. This 5200mah goes with me on my Bike, in my Sketchbook bag etc, its EDC for sure.

The Zolo 20000 mAh resolves that. If you can handle an extra 0.33 pounds, UGREEN has a similar one with 65W output.

Does the anker warranty count for this website since it's own by amazon? I'm currently trying to process one for an apple version.
I have the usbc version, and it's been great to charge my phone without being tethered to a cable. I actually use it more when I'm home and it holds a charge for quite a while. Imo the cabeless wins over the small capacity. In most situations, you don't need to fully charge your phone. I think on any brand the connector is bound to break but it's worth it for this price.

Oh neat, a 65w Powerbank at that size would be a dream. I have a Wemax Pocket Laser Projector that needs 42w. I gotta look into that Ugreen possibly. I use their cables, but know nothing about their Batteries. Although, one of the reasons I stick with Anker is cause I trust their safety features over any new competitor. They're too big to not take safety seriously. Risk with a Powerbank can be catastrophic, Like I'm all for the Cheap Price competition Chinese manufacturers have with each other, but I'd never go with the cheap option on anything that has a Battery. Just my own hesitance for self preservation.
