With 3 caveats 1) Durability 2)Price 3)Pocketability
After 3 months it will show wear and a small chip or two, and after 6 months you should probably just get a new one. I've tried various different third party silicone cases on Amazon, along with near exact Apple case replicas on aliexpress over the years. Ironically, Aliexpress $4-7 cases are the closest thing I've tried, and overall quality, case fit and finish are damn near the same. I wouldn't even bother with the third parties because the replica has the same dimensions and I find Apple has nailed the formula of case thickness to protection ratio.
The ONLY thing about the Aliexpress knockoffs is that the case feel is off. The silicone is still as durable as Apple's, if not more. But there's something about the slickness and smooth feel of the Apple case that has never been matched by any other case. I know I sound like a crazy Apple sycophant, but since I've had so many of them I've noticed the differences over the years. I would honestly spring for the Aliexpress cases-make sure they have sold a lot of them and have good reviews and you'll likely get some good replicas… they even include the Apple logo! 😂 This is the best strategy because you can easily buy like 6 of these cases for the same price as one, and since they wear out similarly in about 6 months you have no worries and don't feel like a fool for buying a $30-50 semi disposable case.
For both the replica and genuine Apple the third downside is the gripiness, which is also its best feature as well, until you have to pocket it. I rarely drop my phone because of how much grip I have with the silicone, and if I do it's a great material for absorbing impact. Pair that with Apple's modern phones and you have a very lightweight, grippy case that will never break. BUT, pocketing this case is a bit of a pain. It fights you, especially on Jean pockets, doubly so if they're skinny jeans. It likes to grip to the sides of the pocket so you sometimes have to use both hands and push it down, and it's a pain in the ass to so it while sitting as opposed to standing.
HUGE bonus is that it never falls out of the pocket, pretty much ever. I've worn really loose gym sweatpants that are notorious for a phone to slide out of and it rarely happens. I tried running my phone caseless but it's too stressful with how easy the phone slides out.
There will be a difference in feel of the silicone being slightly more gummy/sticky, especially as it wears. The stickiness from worn silicone will happen to the official cases as well, just less pronounced.
Have my fingers crossed that my preferred case makers will be releasing updated versions soon.
Hopefully it will stay long

Last year I bought the new Presidio2 Grip for my wife's iPhone Pro Max 15 and it felt very slippery compared to mine. Since it's inverted it doesn't grip to the table/desk/bed when you put it down. It can also slide out of pockets. We had to return it because it didn't offer much more grip than her clear plastic case from Apple. Since then she's bought another (Casekoo Magic Stand or something, and it feels just as slippery to me).
I just pre-ordered the 16 Pro Max for myself since it's a huge upgrade over the Xs and am wondering what the grippiest case is these days. Based on my research so far, though, it seems like I may have to give up that extra drop protection and get a plain old silicone case, which funnily enough I've never had on any phone in 16 years.
I did just recently try the official Apple Silicone Case for my 16 Pro and while the camera button's zoom scrolling feature was a little easier to operate, I found that I really did not like how lower profile the volume/action buttons were on the other side. It also seems a bit less drop protective along the edges and has a lower front/camera bump raised edge protection than the Speck Cases. Many people complain the silicone cases are too grippy, but I find that material slips in my hand much more easily without the textured sides and also it collects all manner of scuzz and pocket lint too.
I just scored a good deal on the same color CandyShell Grip, as the Presidio Grip2 that I purchased for launch, and they both seem about the same to me (The Presidio2 supposedly has a slightly higher drop rating according to Speck).
These cases combined with AmFilm screen protectors have worked great for me and the wife, though she did manage to murder her 14 Pro in a CandyShell Pro case last week (Direct pointed impact to the camera bump glass shattered that square and translated across the entire back of her phone shattering everything to bits). So nothing is perfect haha, but when her AppleCare+ replacement came I slapped the AmFilm camera bump glass protector that my 16 Pro protectors came with (which I personally don't like to use) and hopefully that will protect against that method of phone homicide lol.
That being said, $29.99 for the official Apple Silicone cases on Woot! is cheaper than anything from Speck even with a coupon code right now, so might be worth a gamble for ya this go around!

also such a simple magsafe case shouldn't cost you more than $5
