I just checked on my unit. It also have a light control button to dim or turn off the lights completely and keep the fan speed at any setting you want. 😄👍🏻 I'm so glad they thought of that, I have a fan at my bedroom in which I have this issue although this is not a problem with the unit.
I'm not sure, if you are referring to the correct model... this one has a sleep mode witch should turn off the light, and keep extra quiet.. it is in the product page
Sorry, but you're full of it.

It says right on Winix's product page that the C610 has two sensors. One is for VOCs and the other measures particulate matter, which even gets recorded by the app.

If you're going to be so confident, bring sources.

Caution, this thing has bright stupid blue LED status lights and no mode to disable them. It's insane; they market this as a good small footprint air filter for nurserys but it makes your baby's room look like it peeks out to the vegas strip

It has that mode but there's an indicator light still (iirc) and in sleep mode it goes silent and barely pushes any air. So it becomes functionally less useful and you lose the benefit of mild white noise which is helpful for kids. Sorry I should have been more specific!

Is this an upgrade over the prior C545 sold at costco ? I still have the older one new in box . Maybe I should return it and grab this.

This performs almost the same as the C545 that they were selling for the same price. They advertised the C545 would clean 1740 sq ft in an hour and the C610 is rated at 1840 sq ft in a hour. CADR specs are also very similar, just very slightly better on the C610.
Which one you buy should be based on replacement filter price and if filters are readily available.

If this one doesn't have the whining/droning fan issue that seems to pop up just out of warranty, and the filters are in the same ballpark it's a no-brainer.

How long as this been out? Wonder how the generic filters are (if any)?

edit: looks like it may be a (new) Costco-only item, at least for a while, Oldest review is only 25 days. There don't seem to be any generic filters and the only place to get filters is urlhasbeenblocked. No reviews anywhere other than the few Costco.com. No product tests or Wirecutter (etc) mentions or anything that I can find. I'm a little doubtful the "combo filter" is really going be effective (at least the carbon part for odors) for a full year between changes. I realize I can take it back to Costco if it doesn't perform, but like to I'd avoid that if I can.

So I think I'm gonna wait until it's been out a while and hopefully it'll become available at other vendors (and maybe even a wirecutter review or something will pop up. I'd really love to see what the real-world bearing noise and filter life-span experience after a year is all about before I thinking about replacing our filter fleet.

Have another model and hate that blue light, but just a piece of duck tape will fix it.

I'm looking for my first air purifier for my family who has bad allergies. I read some reviews on Costco website about this having a chemical odor. Does anyone have first hand experience with this particular model? Any other models I should consider instead?

No smells at all on my new unit, it works beautifully! I love the fact that I have a true HEPA filter and fully dimmable lights it is perfect for home spaces.

Just got this yesterday. so far so good. The lowest setting is super quiet and the highest is loud (to be expected). Love that you can dim the light to basically nothing. Good deal at $100
