You're right to be skeptical. The Beelink EQR6 is marketed as an "AI Copilot PC" because it runs Microsoft's AI Copilot, which doesn't actually require an NPU (Neural Processing Unit). Instead, it uses the system's CPU (in this case, the AMD Ryzen 5 6600H) and cloud-based resources for AI tasks. While having an NPU would speed up local AI processing, it's not essential for Copilot to function.

So, yeah, it's scammy advertising. They're using the term "AI" to make it sound more impressive than it is—basically leveraging software features rather than hardware designed for AI.

Exactly right - this is scummy at best and outright misleading (the horror, and on Amazon!). They don't specifically mention "Copilot+", which for some reason, Microsoft is currently limiting only to ARM-based CPU's (probably to help kickstart that market). They will be opening it to other x64 systems that are perfectly capable of exceeding the requirements even now. "Copilot" itself will run on just about anything since it's simply a web application with fully server/cloud-side processing.

As for this hardware deal, it seems good based on the configuration. I have a similar mini-PC that has been running well for over a year. Parts like the NVME SSD and RAM will be generic, bottom-of-the-bin options, but the low price and low power consumption make it worth it for small home servers or basic productivity tasks.

Am I crazy or do they not list what version of HDMI ports are on this.

Looking for a solid Kodi box and this might fit the bill, but I'd like dual HDMI 2.1

It looks like they're effectively HDMI 2.0 based on "2 x HDMI(Max 4K 60Hz)". At least part of the fault lies with the HDMI spec requirements itself; as with USB (power/speed/connector ratings), they purposely want consumers to be more confused (see the second paragraph here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDMI#Versions). Excerpt:

In 2009, HDMI Licensing banned the use of "version numbers" in labeling HDMI products.[93] Instead, HDMI devices should explicitly declare which features and capabilities they support.

Bought a Beelink S12 in June to serve as a Plex server. Been working great, except I cannot get this thing to stay awake longer than roughly a week. Sometimes 5 days, sometimes 10 days, it goes to sleep so I can't access it unless I go upstairs and move the mouse. I've Googled and turned off every sleep option I can find.
