This phone was released in June 2024. You must have had some other phone model.

There are mutiple edge 2024 deals ongoing:

Straight talk: No port in, around $130 ( with 3 months service), unlocked after 60 days
This (Total): Port in and ID verification, around $65 (with 1 month service) + tax + fee (total around $85 for CA), unlocked after 60 days.
Metro: No port in, exactly $75 (with one month service), unlocked after 365 days

Why do you think the a35 is better? Just curious. I have the Moto edge and a Samsung a54 and I definitely think the Moto edge is better. The Edge is lighter, faster, and has a better screen. The build guaiity on the a54 is arguably better and will get faster and more updates but the Moto is better optimized from the start and has better battery life.

You get android updates up to 2026 and 3 years of security updates with Motorola. With Samsung you get 4 major android updates, and 5 years of security updates.

I agree that the initial specs are better on Motorola, but overall Samsung is a better quality as we all know.

So it's a trade off, here and there.

The killer feature with motorola edge 2024 is the ability to output video via USB-C. Samsung does also have this feature on their high end phones like galaxy S series, but not on A series phones

IM not really concerned about 5 years of updates. Many people will not be still using either of these phones in 5 years. In the last couple years companies like Samsung and Google have been pushing this longer update gimmick but who knows if they will really keep their word. My guess is probably not and these devices will probably be next to useless with android 19.

The apps are getting more complex so they will not work on older android versions. In the case it will be good as a paper weight

Didn't have to do anything. One day before the promised date of unlock, I checked the settings menu and it said it already unlocked. Threw in my Redpocket GSMT sim and worked like a charm. This is an excellent device, esp for the price of free. Currently using it as mostly an emulator gaming system with a backbone gen2.

Did you called them to get the unlock code?

No, it automatically unlocked at midnight EST. 311311 will tell you when it'll unlock, just text is UNLOCK. This works even without active service.

Anyone willing to dumb down some steps for me? Purchase phone, step two, step 3, get it onto T-Mobile at the early as possible date with a transfer to an existing phone number on the T-Mobile account. Danke!

I read Moto added the 2 extra security updates this year, but it was only to late 3rd quarter production on the Edge. No idea build dates on these from Total. Nice phone, but the Samsung A54 and certainly the Pixel 6a and up have better cameras. I like the smaller size of the latter.

The Tracfone Samsungs don't have all the 5G bands unlocked if plan to use for T-Mobile like the Tracfone Motorola does. N71 is must for T-Mobile 5G if want to use once unlocks.

I got the Total Wireless A54 deal if plan to use on T-Mobile it doesn't have 5G N41 or N71 bands they are locked out by the firmware. So will be stuck on LTE most of the time.

I would like to cancel this order and contacted total wireless immediately but they said they can't cancel it even though it has not been shipped and the only option is to refuse the delivery and I will get my money back after package is sent back to origin. Do anyone have any experience with this?

I currently have T-Mo as my provider and use a Pixel 6a as my secondary phone....honestly, I mostly use it for mobile gaming. My Primary phone is an iPhone 11 Pro Max...would this phone be a good replacement for a Pixel 6a? I'm bored and want to live up to the slickdeals motto of "going broke saving money"...
