I would look at other reasons than the stick if you're having that issue. I've had the 4K and 4K max, and somewhat recently upgrade to the new 4K max. I've streamed 4K content on Kodi effortlessly, even files 80+ GB's. Either you need a debrid service, or your internet isn't capable of streaming 4K, but it's not the stick.

Do you not get the 20% trade in discount until after they receive your old device? I expected it to show up when I placed my order, but it did not. If I'm only getting the $3 off for my old device, I'll just keep it.

Don't think these prices are much lower than what they have been, but the 20% reminder got me to bite. Ordered a Max for $27 after 20% discount and $3 instant gift card for an old first Gen fire stick that's been collecting dust...

This is correct. It isn't known exactly what qualifies the account. I used to think it was some sort of customer behavior score as I got the instant, and have been an Amazon customer for almost 30 years, buy constantly, and rarely have a return. But then I was non-instant for a couple years, but now back to instant. No one knows.

I got the 20% off instantly. Amazon used to let you keep the 20% discount if you decide not to submit the trade-in. Not sure if that policy has changed.
