Jist a reminder folks, if you are buying it for ps5 or series S/X gou can only use it with ps4 games for PlayStation or Non-Series-optimized games for Xbox, and they are "optimizing" more and more games.

If you're lucky, the D30 1TB variant go low as $32 at Walmart. I got one for that cheap price. See deal below

I haven't paid attention, what's happened here? Got the 5GB variant from Gamestop for $75 two yrs ago and today a 2GB for $85 is a good deal?

This is lukewarm right? 5TB external frequently go for $100 new, the nvme drives 1TB go for around this pricepoint

Fair question here as far as value proposition goes. Inflation is not the answer.

Sure WD is screwing everyone they can, but you've gotta have a screw loose and lack a rational brain to buy this IMO.....

WD is out to milk everyone I think. Prices have been running very high all year. I've purchased 5TB portable HDDs around $100 multiple times in the past, but this year, those exact same models are holding in the $130 range. After price-watching for a bit, I bought a sealed package second-hand one from eBay for $100. Screw you, WD.

I don't have this model, but WD has been using a USB pcb for the hdds inside instead of the usual SATA one for a good while now. Found that out the hard way over a decade ago.
