Maybe this 'new' 4214T model, which I can't really tell at a glance what the difference might be.. but I got my WEN 4214 back in 2017 for $154.09 shipped.

It's been a decent tool, and has done a few things I wouldn't have been able to manage gracefully without it. Useful light and laser feature helps locate things, and it's nice how easy it is to adjust speed. Not a ton of runout on my chuck. Would buy again at this $217 price assuming quality hasn't been 'value engineered' out of it in the last ~7 yrs.

On the 4214, you manually adjust the belts. On the 4214T you get a lever to adjust the speed (much easier)
EDIT: Caleo is right - 4214 does have the lever to adjust the speed as well.

Negative. Mine's got the same continuously variable adjustment lever the 4214T does. You might be thinking of a smaller model, or be seeing some inaccurate information somewhere?

My FIL got one of these off a return pallet for $10. Popped a new switch in and has used it daily for the last 5 years (I'm not positive on the exact model but it's a Wen drill press.. can't be too many). It works like a scalded dog. I'm not in the market so I won't testify as to the price, but this thing holds up for Chineesium

trash tool for someone who is into tools, DIY and wants something above even slightly above china quality. I own one.
I'm not into tools or diy but have been using it for the last ten years. Does the job, no complaints.

Agreed. Bought this a year ago for $214 from Home Depot, decent tool at a decent price...not uncommon for it to be this price though.

Probably not a huge difference, I was on the fence when I researched and a lot of happy people with both, but a few *really" bad reviews of the HF model made me choose Wen.

I also own the older version of this. The wobble is unbearable - the bit moves 3-5 mm off center regularly. If you don't need precise location but need a perfect 90 degree angle, it's great, but if you need to drill in an exact location, based on my experience with the older model, I'd stay away from this one
