Plastic components and clamps holding the dumbbells. Seems like an accident waiting to happen.

Hard Pass due to safety reasons. Get a real barbell and set of plates.

It seems like it might be clunky to switch weights. Could be good for somebody who doesn't change weights often.

The clamps hold the dumbbells in a fixed position. I think. That seems like a torque problem doing some exercises. Think about straight bar curls for example.

Anyone who can lift more than what this can hold is probably not the target audience.

Advertised weight limit and safety are two different matters. Do you know how they tested the weight limit? Yeah, no one does. One accidental drop could snap the whole thing even with weight well within the weight limit. Or the parts could wear down over time. Bowflex SelectTechs are rated for 55.2 lbs (as that is their adjustable weight limit) and those plastic tabs are well known to snap far more than literally any other major adjustable dumbbell brand I can think of, and apparently people think highly of Bowflex.
But feel free to put your faith into Prctz. They totally sound trustworthy.

Please feel free to drop down ANY company who you believe to be reputable, and I guarantee I can google cases of faulty items or stress tests failing. By that metric you're better off just doing calisthenics.

But hey, feel free you trust items that probable have a higher rate of injury than a plastic bar to attach dumbbells.
