Note for potential buyers, the CPU (R7 7435HS) does not have an integrated GPU so the battery life will not be good. Also still uses Zen 3 instead of Zen4 so performance is very good but not amazing.

Just a consideration if you don't intend to use it as a desktop replacement. Other than that it looks good.

Agree. It's essentially a desktop you can easily move around the house.

Wow what a weird miss by Lenovo, especially on the "slim" line that is literally supposed to be the more portable gaming line. just... weird.

I believe user was saying it is not powerful enough to be a desktop replacement.

First thing to do is to remove the pre-installed antivirus and just go with windows defender and the the free malwarebytes... its all you need. Next thing to do is check for updates in the vantage app, update (I dont recommend bios updates) and then uninstall the vantage app. The next thing to do is download Lenovo Legion toolkit here:

https://github.com/BartoszCicheck...tag/2.21.3

That is essentially Vantage but uses much less resources.

The next thing to do is type "Startup Apps" in the search bar in windows 11.

Disable everything except the realtek audio driver and the windows security notifications.

Reboot..

Next update your geforce drivers (open geforce experience).

Next, install the xbox app and xbox accessories app if you are an xbox controller user and gamepass user.

Next, go into nvidia control panel and make sure in the settings that power management mode says "Maximum performance"

Next, make sure enable G-sync is selected for the laptop display in nvidia control panel.

Next, download steam, gog, and epic games and make sure to get your free weekly epic game (farming sim right now).

next, if you are gamepass user, download the new Hellblade 2 to test your system, its a next-gen game that looks insane on this laptop. Some games are crashing with RTX ray tracing enabled (Witcher 3 for example).

next, go ahead and type startup apps again and disable anything except the mentioned above..

Lastly, remember to user the FN-Q keyboard command often... if you are not gaming, make sure the power light is on blue...

Outside of the deck and similar devices, 'portable gaming's doesn't seem to be a thing. It's like, you either get 30 minutes or 90 minutes

The point isn't that you can't game on battery, you can't game on battery for long on any gaming laptop. The point is that you can't even use this as a regular laptop on battery because it's always going to be running on the GPU.

I have a variant of the Legion Slim 5 that does have an integrated GPU, and at this point I use it more often as a personal laptop to manage finances and book flights than I do to game. I wouldn't be able to do that for very long with this specific model.

I think it's sold out, I can add to the cart but can't finish the purchase. I tried in 3 different browsers and none worked.

Right so the idea here as someone else said is that this is a general purpose laptop that also doubles as a gaming device when plugged in. Except with no IGPU even if you are just browsing the web etc you are getting MAYBE an hour of battery life lol. Madness.

Meanwhile my Legion 5 pro from 2021 or 22 will last 3-4 hours off battery because of the IGPU switch. And for me it's a laptop first, gaming computer second. But it's especially weird with the slim line as the only reason to want to save the 1~ lb and .2-3 inches is for portability, which is a lot lower value with terrible battery life.

But looks like it is now in-store only and cannot be shipped any more?
