Generally they stay calibrated as long as you don't drop them over 5 feet or leave them set at some high foot pounds. Wind them back down after use.
I mean, they are called "Click Torque Wrenches" or "Clickers" for a reason.
You've got that right, pal! They called clickers for a reason... because they click!

There are some on this thread who believe there is a click and if they do not hear it, wrench on. That is not how the tool works. Like you said either you set the limit or someone before you set the limit. They then blame the tool for not setting a torque limit correctly.
This is a very good tool for infrequent use.
The exact same tools are sold under a dozen different brand names for $60.
Nobody is rebuilding engines with a $12 tool. If this keeps somebody from breaking their wheel studs or bike frame (use the 1/4" one) then good enough.
In the case of spark plugs, you can screw them in until they bottom out, and then turn a bit more to compress the washer. Usually that means another 15-180 degrees. You can usually feel when the washer has been compressed the expected amount,
I get it everyone here is a master mechanic. I used to torque wrench my plugs and now I don't. I haven't had any problems and if I did, it would be on me and I wouldn't ask any of you clowns for money.
Buy something better quality that will last many years. After all you are probably doing your own mechanic work and already saving money there.
