Make sure your motherboard's BIOS is updated to the latest release to get the latest Intel microcode for these chips.

Hard pass on a potentially self destructing CPU. Maybe once we've gotten some more time to confirm Intel's fix actually worked.

Yeah and it took a couple years for them to identify and acknowledge the issue and for some people to start seeing problems with their systems. At this point, on this issue, I'm not willing to give Intel the benefit of the doubt. The nature of this issue means it could be 6 months or a year and then we start seeing problems again and we find out Intel didn't really fix all the situations where it was providing too much voltage and it's still slowly damaging the CPUs.
