How do these compare to using shelf liners? The shelf liner for a dollar helps my bathroom mat stay in place somewhat but it'll move if I try really hard. Can I use them to drap over furniture but under throws an theyll keep em on better? I get tired of adjusting my throws every few days

I just got the 8x10 today and its very, very nice. It has a full rubber/plastic like backing and the top part is felt - at least 1/4" thick. I put it under a new washable rug I bought off Amazon. The rug is super thin but this pad gives it some serious umph for $35. Great deal.
I have the shelf liner type pads under the runner in my hallway and this is much more substantial. It also like, velcros to the rug backing if that makes sense

Thank you. I was wondering how well a felt surface stays in place against rug backing

No problem, the top part of the felt also has kind of a light layer of rubber sprayed on it (you can still see/feel the felt) but I think it makes it grip to the rug back better. I think you'll really like it! I was in the same boat but figured I could always return it to the store if it was bad.
