I bought the UM690S a year ago directly from MINISFORUM. After waiting a month or more it arrived DOA. Had to send it back on MY dime and wait for THEM to receive it before they would ship a replacement. Another few WEEKS later it arrived and actually worked. So YES that extra $25 from Amazon is 100% worth it!

Not a better deal but they have it on Amazon for $25 more if you want it delivered quicker and have an easier time returning it if you don't like it. Again not a better deal but more of the Amazon tax for more convenience.

Had one. Downgraded to a NUC because the thing was so unstable. Hard freezes at least a few times a day. Forums said to downgrade RAM speed to 4800. That helped a lot, but still hard froze about every other day. You get what you pay for, I'll gladly pay more for anything but Minisforum.

im planning to go 1) for my next pc

I got this last year. Very good emulation box and Plex server. But the fan started grinding against the case after a few months. It was pretty annoying so I unplugged the fan. Probably less performance, but runs quiet again

Linux on brand new m2, even tried another distro just in case, but same. These things have some inherent hardware problem. I had an AMD Asrock 4x4 and it was solid as well, so not a driver issue.

I have a different miniPC using oculink through the spare nvme slot. I think it could work with this machine.
