For those who are filling larger tanks (i.e. transferring the full 5 gallons at a time), get a shake siphon [amazon.com] to use. These auto-shutoff nozzles work fine for small equipment (when you read the instructions), but are a pain to use for filling tractors and automobiles. Shake siphon works great and doesn't require you drill a hole & put an air port in the back like you would need with an old-school flexible nozzle.

That looks a bit more involved than drilling the hole and getting a flexible nozzle.

The best way to use these POS gas cans is to unscrew the nozzle and pour the old fashion way. The nozzle is just for transport and storage.
