Picked up Red Rising on the standalone post for it earlier, which based on comments and BGG is decently rated though better as a single player than multiplayer game..

Check your local walmart marked down toy area. I found a lot of board games for $5 last week - Jeopardy, Yellowstone, Villanous and a few others.

For the hobbyist who likes to paint miniatures, Monumental looks well worth $15 regardless of how it functions a game.
