my alexa devices get worst over time. no longer worth the investment into their ecosystem.

I followed a suggestion from a reddit forum and they said to turn the language to English (Canadian). Worked for us…haven't had an ad since. We also went through the settings to get rid of all games and routines.

I dont know about you but I am still using first gen alexa and still works great!

Does anyone know if this one shows advertisements? I'm eager to get rid of my echo show 5's and 8's because of the ads.

I read Amazon wants to charge $5 to $10 PER MONTH for the "more advanced ai" features

In settings, turn off all the home screen stuff. The only stuff I see are things I kept, such as weather and news.

It doesn't look like the screen to control lights has a brightness adjustment from what i've seen in videos. If I could do that on screen vs using voice, I'd get this to replace my home hub.

Will this one play the spotify title and take over the clock like the echo clock with dot? One annoying thing with the echo clock, when music is playing it shows the artist and title instead of the clock.
