If you don't need a battery, there is also a $199 Sawzall tool-only + "free gift" 5AH battery which is "hackable" and works out to $110.62 for the sawzall (for me at least). Same link, just change the "attachment options" to "no additional attachments" and it lets you add a battery.

Hackable by returning the battery to the store after you get the tool and the battery? Sorry for the noob question.

I have the little M12 hacksaw and I think it works well for my needs which is basically just cutting thru random crap like thick branches and pvc and other random projects.

Is this just a heavier beefier version of that?

Yep! Though what I would do is set them to store pickup at two different stores (saw at your near by store, battery at a store further away), and then text-chat with customer support and tell them you selected the wrong store and need to have them cancel the battery. I've had 100% success with that.

I have had mixed results returning one of the two items in person, it really depends on the CS rep (also maybe cuz my account history had SO many of these last fall lol. One rep at the store was really suspicious of what I was doing...They told me LP monitors stuff like that. A year later, I still shop at HD all the time and still return any unused stuff from projects without a second thought, so LP must not think I'm a risk.)
