FWIW I have the 980 pro with heatsink and there is a sticker on it that says warranty void if removed

For a PS5, how does this compare to the WD SN850?

I'm completely out of the loop of why it's bad to have a heatsink for ps5 use

Yes, I believe so. I'm looking to expand storage in my laptop though

Same here. I didn't even know you could have a heat sink with the small compartment.

When I checked that was the best price so I ended up buying 2 of the 4TB with heatsink for my new PC build.

It's not required but recommended. I have this on my PS5 and had zero issues.

The supreme court I believe for once ruled these aren't binding for warranty purposes anymore.

4Tb for $200 was the lowest I've seen (and bought). That was from Samsung direct last year.

I have a 2Tb one in my PS5 and a 4Tb in my PC. I would highly recommended using a heat sink. I've seen 50-60C during file transfers. If you wanna keep this thing for a few years, get the heat sink version.
