Thanks. Better deal than regular filter. This is "Plus" version.

Elite filters lead, Costco.com shows those at 4 for $50, as a price benchmark. Amazon sells those 2 for $30.

Yes, but to what standard and decided on by who? Some may prefer a different taste or simply want peace of mind knowing it was filtered at the point where they can confirm it themselves.

These are a pretty terrible price.

The 10-cup everyday elite pitcher was half this price recently (it looks like I ordered at end of august, price was $16). At $34.49, it's not a value at all.

The filters themselves are a bit pricey, and between the Standard/Plus/Elite, I'd absolutely recommend the Elite filters. They last 3x as long as the standard or plus and filter out quite a bit more stuff. 4x filters isn't as great of a value if they last 1/3 as long as the Elite and don't filter as much.

With that said, I did buy a 2nd one of these filters (and use the standard filter) for filtering vodka, hearing that it removes the burn and makes it a bit more neutral tasting. I filtered a bottle about 6 times using a standard filter and it definitely got rid of a lot of the burn from it. Won't work miracles, but will turn a cheap bottom of the barrel vodka into a decent one.
Don't mix filters for Water & Alcohol, but if you decide to dedicate one specifically to it? it's cheap enough when these are on sale.

I have this one, and for some reason, the elite filter doesn't seal perfectly, and unfiltered water leaks a little into the pitcher. I've tried reseating it a few times with no success. I didn't have this problem with the basic filter.

There are places that actually don't have city water like out in the sticks, that rely on a well. Also, if the pipes in your house are pre-86 they could be lead or have lead solder used in them.
