I cannot confirm how accurate this statement is, however, if you shop on the Ego website for their products, they list Amazon as a place to purchase their items.

It would seem illogical (Star Trek reference) for Ego to send their customers to Amazon and not honor their warranty.

This is not true at all. Ego will honor if you buy directly from Amazon. And if you buy something as important as a battery from a 3rd party, well that's on you.

Wow SD…
I post a link, with a response from the vendor disproving this nonsense and it gets deleted???

Even if it ship/sold by Amazon.com?

I call BS on your statement. As long as the Ego product is shipped and sold by Amazon.com, not a third party seller, Ego honors the warranty. They have for my products in the past.

Theyre wrong… just make sure it's sold and shipped by Amazon.
It's best to ignore most everything you read in a forum on the internet… this is why fact checking is important 100% of the time 😉

I'm new to the Ego ecosystem. Is this worth it? My mower came with two 4ah batteries. Will this one give me some runtime? Thanks

How is that true? I've registered every single EGO product I've bought on their sight and Amazon.com is one of the listed resellers. I am sure as long as it is direct from Amazon and not 3rd party, they'll honor it

These are useless for mowers, snow blowers, or anything power hungry. But they are perfect for string trimmers, edgers, blowers, etc. This is a great price.

This is the smaller version for handhelds mostly, like an edger.

It will work, but drain faster on the mower.

Is there a site like DTO but for Ego stuff? I'd like some bigger batteries but holy crap are they expensive.

I'm in the ego ecosystem. For fun, I tried to run the trimmer battery (that's in the post) in my lawnmower. It actually worked… for about 4-5 minutes.

You can also run the big mower batteries on the trimmer, it just makes it very back heavy and difficult to swing around.

As a hint for longevity, charge and keep them indoors. Our garage gets 110-120 degrees in the summer and this killed our batteries. Now the charger is flashing red on all of them.

Keeping them indoors has helped a ton.

The batteries start to fail right after the warranty expires, so who cares?
