If 4k is a hard requirement, then please look elsewhere. Rove likes to advertise their cameras as 4k but in reality, they're 2.5k only....the sensor on this dashcam uses a 5mp Sony sensor so it cannot capture video in 4k.

The 4K Dual is the better value. Newer, has Starvis2, and comes with a rear cam and sd card at $102

Is it worth it to buy the newer version for 10$ more?

Looking to replace my generic, simple dashcam I've had running for 7 years.

I'd like something in the <$180 range and with easy install and as many cameras and good software as possible. Obviously good image quality too, especially at night.

What do you guys recommend? This or another brand like the Vantue? models.

Been wanting to add a camera to my cars. This might be a good setup. Live in FL so a super capacitor was a must. I was looking at a Vifio mini which is $99 for just front camera and 32mb card. This adds a bunch over that.

Look "elsewhere" like the second deal linked in this thread? The Dual version is equipped with the Starvis 2 sensor, which is definitely capable of 2160…

I'm not dissing on the deal or Rove. Just saying that if you want real 4k then you need to look elsewhere. What is your budget?

It's an interesting article, but where does it state which Starvis 2 sensor is installed in this dashcam? I don't see that explicitly stated on any spec sheet. There are currently close to 2 dozen Starvis 2 sensors on the market with varying specs. I'm not saying this is, or isn't the case, I would just like to see the details for myself. If it is in fact an IMX675, then the article would appear to be correct in its conclusion.

Is the dual better than the viofo a119 mini? Trying to decide between those two.

im still testing viofo mini. if it survives next summer heat i'll buy another mini or something similar for rear. meanwhile i moved my 4k to the rear and removed 1080 rear cam. i'm done with 1080.
