These have very inconsistent quality control, or more precisely many of them tend to have connection issues after using them just a couple months which makes them worthless because they keep randomly losing connection to where you can't read the the temperature and you have to keep getting up to reset the app and/or base unit multiple times, therefore there is no point of using this if it requires as much effort as having to get up to manually stick a probe in the food multiple times anyway.

Costco has the 2 pack for $99.99 and sometimes onsale for $79.99. The good thing with Costco is you can return it past the 30 days that Amazon provides. https://www.costco.com/chef-iq-sm...27273.html

My error is "The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase."

Bummer. I tried again.

EDIT:

I was using the "buy it now" process. Adding to cart then going through formal checkout did work.

These kind of suck in a sense that they, get really hot to the touch and overheat easily (sometimes I think it's the internal battery), and the battery itself for charging base doesn't last very long, often need to charge prior to use. I've had it less than a year.

Nonetheless this price is decent so I ordered another one as a gift for the MIL 😅

Sounds like the same issue as the ones than on AliExpress which are around $55 for 2 or $37 for 1. Bluetooth issues is what they mention on a few of the top sellers.

Not sure if this one does, but I have the Thermopro TempSpike on mine via Esphome/bluetooth proxy and it's been great. TempSpike is at a comparable price for the 2 pack right now also.

Similar ThermoPro is on sale for $60

I have it and it works great. The case serves as a signal extender. Reading temps 3 rooms away.
