Pretty solid price, but ultrawides this size need to be curved imo.
Yes, Microsoft Powertoys has an application called FancyZones that I use for this.

Question: Is it possible to split these typical-wide-monitors into multiple "displays" using Microsoft Windows on a single monitor?? I've always had multiple monitors just so I can "snap" windows, have multiple task bars, start buttons (i.e., one on each), etc. .. Appreciate some guidance on this.
Yes there is a lot of software that can manage your display to split it in half. You can use Display Fusion's software to do this. I simply use Windows native snap functionality to split apps to one side of the screen to basically make two monitors out of one ultrawide monitor.

As a part time CAD jockey I'm tempted but IDK how my wife would react if I swap our 27 to this, for my work flat is arguably better.

I totally agree this monitor just needs some curve and it would be a, well, decent deal. It doesn't have stellar refresh rate but the brand is reliable and well established. Unless that's changed lately.

Yeah, it looks like there are two versions of this monitor—one with just HDMI and one with DP and HDMI. The DP and HDMI ones are 50 bucks more expensive on Amazon.

I had this monitor and personally really liked it. There are a lot, this size, that are 250 nits. 300 nits make a difference in brightness, for me. And call me insane, but I liked the deeper blacks of the VA panel compared to a couple IPS monitors I tried.
The only reason I returned it is because I needed something shorter as a second, stacked monitor.

Same. This is a great monitor. There are also specific needs for these exact specs (flat, UW) so most folks chiming in are only thinking sitting at a desk doing something.

Not to mention no one has mentioned a monitor arm which greatly improves the usefulness of a flat, UW, monitor.

No curve camp. Need a monitor below my main one and it would only fit if it's tilted up with a low profile stand. Curved monitors don't do well in that angle

IDK why the deal is marked as dead. I'm still seeing $199.99 for this monitor when I follow the link.

Because Amazon inflates some prices back right after the deal day ends. I assume so folks who check again think they got a great price. Then, by midday the day after ordering, the price goes back down to their "deal" price.

I can verify because that is what happened here and why the deal expired.
