Buy two Delta 2 instead of this. You'll get the same capacity but the flexibility of having two systems that can operate independently. I priced it out last week at nearly the same with the prime deals.

Yes, you'd end up with two systems, but if you exhausted the battery of one Delta 2 unit you'd have to disconnect the devices you're powering from that unit and reconnect them to the other unit which may not be desirable if you wanted continuous power.

To my knowledge you cannot hook two Delta 2's together in "parallel". You can only expand their power supply with an expansion battery or a generator input.

You could hook things up to an automatic transfer switch then plug one leg of the transfer switch into each system. Little more cost, but gets you the flexibility. I plug my ups into an ats then have one leg into the wall and one into an ecoflow.

Just a thought, can't you just plug 1 Delta 2 to the other Delta 2 to "extend" the battery?

Nope, that's what my "you can't hook two Delta 2's together in "parallel"" comment meant.

How much do automatic transfer switches cost?

What's involved in getting the ATS installed and wired?

The one I got came with one male plug and one just exposed wires, so I added a plug on the wires, the other side I had to add the female plug as well. All in all it was 5 minutes and then I just plugged stuff in. Dead simple to set up

So is the one you have something like this?:

https://www.amazon.com/MXLTYMX-Au...0DCW7HTPN/

Issue with that is for electronics/computers. The ATS in the link above has a 30ms switchover time, which may be too long to avoid having a computer experience a power interruption/restart.

I'm REALLY interested in options as I have a Delta 2 and its primary purpose is to keep my work-from-home computer/monitor setup running for at least an 8 hour work day if I have a power outage.

Confused, so, you can't just connect the "AC" charge cable (like plugging it into a wall socket) of 1 Delta 2 and plug it into the other Delta 2? Can't it supply power when plugged into the wall socket? Does it support bypass mode? (Letting AC power the plugged in items while Delta 2 is plugged in)

Similar, I have https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004S5Y158

I have my stuff plugged into a ups then into that, then that is plugged into the wall and an ecoflow on the other side. Any tiny cheap ups will handle the load long enough for the ats to switch over to a power station.

Ok, thanks. So to be comprehensive:

To use two Delta 2 units as a switchover for electronics you wil need ~$80 automatic transfer switch, some add'l amount for plugs and labor to add onto it, and some kind of UPS.

That would be the best way I can think of. Plug ends should be ~$10. Small UPS should be $30-45. So like maybe $130

What happens when the Delta 2 that is "first downstream" from the load exhausts its battery? Will it still "pass through" power from the 2nd Delta 2?
